We are seeking a Product Designer (AI Assistant, Automotive) to craft intuitive, safety-aware experiences that bring AI capabilities to life inside the vehicle.

In this role, you will design AI-driven user experiences from concept to delivery, translating complex system behaviors into clear, predictable, and user-friendly interactions. You will define user journeys, interaction flows, and system states across happy paths, edge cases, and failure scenarios, ensuring interfaces remain glanceable and appropriate for in-car use.

Working closely with Product Managers and Engineers, you will contribute to interaction guidelines for AI—including voice feedback, confirmations, errors, and fallbacks—while iterating designs based on technical constraints, data availability, and user feedback. You will also help evolve design systems and visual standards aligned with Material Design 3 and automotive HMI principles.

Overall responsibilities and duties:

  • Design AI-driven user experiences from concept to delivery.
  • Translate complex AI behavior into clear and predictable interactions.
  • Define user journeys, interaction flows, and system states (happy path, edge cases, failures).
  • Design glanceable, safety-aware UIs for in-car use.
  • Contribute to interaction guidelines for AI (voice, confirmations, errors, fallbacks).
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Engineers.
  • Iterate designs based on technical constraints, data availability, and user feedback.
  • Support and evolve design systems and visual standards (Material Design 3).

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in UX/UI or Product Design (mid to senior level).
  • Strong foundation in user-centered design.
  • Experience designing flows and journeys, not just screens.
  • Strong UI fundamentals (hierarchy, typography, spacing, readability).
  • Experience with motion, micro-interactions, or spatial UI to support feedback and state changes.
  • Ability to clearly explain design decisions and trade-offs.
  • Experience working in cross-functional product teams.
  • Proficiency with Figma or equivalent design tools.
  • Experience designing for automotive or embedded systems.
  • Familiarity with driver context, safety constraints, and glanceable interfaces.
  • Knowledge of in-vehicle platforms or HMI guidelines.
  • Experience designing under hardware or platform limitations.
