We are seeking a skilled Android Engineer to help design, standardize, and evolve our Android Automotive Apps Market product in a fast-moving, global environment.

Overall responsibilities and duties:   

• Investigate, design, and implement new features and improvements in our Android Automotive Apps Market product (apps, services, libraries, SDKs). 

• Analyze existing implementations across projects, identify duplication or divergence, and drive convergence into standardized, reusable product modules. 

• Define and maintain architectural guidelines, coding standards, and implementation patterns that ensure consistency across OEM deployments. 

• Collaborate with product management and architecture to refine technical roadmaps, prioritize improvements, and align product evolution with customer needs. 

• Build and maintain internal tools, reference implementations, and sample apps that simplify integration and demonstrate best practices. 

• Improve performance, reliability, startup time, and resource usage of the Apps Market client under automotive constraints and varying hardware. 

• Contribute to automated testing (unit, instrumentation, integration) and CI/CD pipelines to ensure high‑quality, repeatable releases. 

• When needed, join customer calls and workshops to clarify technical requirements, present proposed solutions, and gather feedback for product improvements. 

• Support OEM integrations with targeted debugging, log analysis, and root‑cause investigations, feeding learnings back into product standards. 

• Document solutions, guidelines, and decisions so that other teams and OEM partners can implement and maintain them consistently. 

 Qualifications:   

• 3+ years of professional Android development experience with Kotlin and/or Java, working on production-grade applications or system components. 

• Strong understanding of Android architecture patterns (e.g., MVVM, Clean Architecture), Jetpack components, and dependency injection frameworks. 

• Experience in refactoring, standardizing, and modularizing codebases to improve reuse, maintainability, and scalability. 

• Solid experience integrating RESTful APIs and working with asynchronous data flows, background operations, and error handling. 

• Proven debugging skills, including working with logs, profilers, and different devices/OS versions; ideally with some exposure to embedded or automotive environments. 

• Good communication skills and the ability to interact directly with customers in technical discussions when required. 

• Habit of writing clean, maintainable, and well‑tested code, with a mindset oriented to long‑term product quality and consistency. 

• Experience with Android Automotive OS, in‑vehicle infotainment, or embedded Android systems. 

• Experience building internal frameworks, SDKs, or shared libraries used by multiple teams or customers.

• Familiarity with performance optimization in constrained environments, and with observability practices (logging, metrics, tracing).
